Tigre win anew; Batang Kankaloo triumphs

JA Catome canned a pressure-packed free throw in the last seven seconds and his brother Joseph Catome came up with a steal in the ensuing play as the Mandaluyong Namayan Tigre nipped EZ Jersey Doc Boleros 69-67 last Saturday for their second straight win in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Under-18 Luzon and NCR Leg at the Central Recreational Facility in New Era, Quezon City.

Ja Catome showed the way for the Tigre with 19 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Maverick Rebulado added a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.

James Corpuz also had 13 and six for Mandaluyong Namayan, which rose to 2-0 in the tilt co-presented by SCD and Dumper party-list and supported by J Project Clothings, MDC, Bluesky Advertising, NET 25, Wcube Solutions Inc., Hotel SOGO, and Converge.

In the other games in the Luzon and NCR Leg, Batang Kankaloo 18-U downed New Era University 75-67, while the duel pitting AGC Strong 18-U and Bagong Cabuyao 18-U was called off.

AGC Strong forfeited the match after it failed to acquire its game jerseys despite being informed about the game schedule in advance.

The Titans were declared the winner of the tiff.

Over at the Cebu City Sports Institute, GM Seafront whipped Sidlak Danao 80-56, while Sherilin Khalifa City of Naga edged the Consolacion Sarok Weavers 73-69 in the Visayas Leg.
